Remember the glory days?

Blues
i remember watching those big tests back when, especially those trips over to eden park for the bledisloe. the roar when the blues crossed the line, you could feel it right through the concrete of the bar we were huddled in. there was something special about that energy, wasn't there? just the pure belief of the crowd. i keep thinking about that 2014 chiefs game. honestly, it wasn't just the scoreline, it was the sound. that collective gasp turning into a proper, thunderous scream when that try went in. my wife was actually shouting along with us, which was saying something. those nights felt huge, didn't they? like the whole city held its breath, waiting for them to do something magic. watch as long as i have and you'll get it, the weight of those colours. 😄

Honestly, sometimes I still feel that rumble in my chest when I think about those matches, nah. It’s more than just noise, you know? It’s like the whole stadium vibrates and you can’t breathe for a second when they go for that big line break. I was watching the 2014 game at my cousin’s place down the road, and when that try finally went in, everything just went silent for a fraction of a second before the absolute EXPLOSION. My mate and I just went wild, proper insane. It's that shared energy, mate, knowing every single person in that venue feels that same pure, blinding relief and joy when the Blues do something legendary... that’s what makes the colours mean somethin. 🔵💛😭 What a feeling... so proud.
Heart with the team, head on pause.

  • Man, those old Blues sides just had a way of making you feel like everything was possible. That Chiefs try from 2014 though, honestly, that memory always hits me. The way the whole ground just seemed to hold its breath and then explode? Pure magic. You could feel the weight of the jersey on them, but they wore it like it was light. The current squad has massive talent, absolutely, but sometimes I feel like we’ve lost a bit of that raw, desperate fight from the past. It’s not about saying the newer players aren't good, it's just that the heart we saw in those glory years felt like it beat a little deeper, like they were playing for the soul of the team, not just the line. Still love supporting them though, hopefully we get back a bit of that fire soon! 💪🏉

  • Can you even describe that noise? 😱 My mate was screaming so loud I thought he was gonna crack his voice out, right after that try hit the grass. It wasn't just cheers, man, it was like the whole crowd was *cheering* the team, like they were part of it. Pure power 💪🔥🙌
