Remember being a young fella at Lancaster Park in '95 when the Shield got defended. The old wooden stands honestly bounced under our feet, half of us thought the whole thing was coming down 😄 back in my day you packed in like sardines and the roar did the rest. Haven't felt a rumble quite like it since, though I'm hoping the new place gives the young ones their own version. Anyone else got a goosebumps moment in red and black to share?

Mate my old man still swears the ground moved that day 😄 wasn't there myself but grew up on that story. Goosebumps every time I hear it 🔥

  • i was there that day too, mate, and i'll tell you what stuck with me. The smell of the old wooden stands and the beer spilt down the back of my jersey while the whole thing shook like a southerly had hit it 😄 funny thing is, they built those stands out of pure timber back in the day and we were none of us worried about them coming down, we just roared louder. ah well, we'll see what the new place gives us for memories.
    Seen it all, lads.

  • Hard out, those '95 sides had a grunt to them the current boys are still growing into. I could be wrong, but give this lot another couple of seasons and a few of those forwards will have their own stories worth telling at Lancaster Park reunions. Different eras, same jersey, and the goosebumps still turn up when the crowd gets going 📊
Do the math before you argue.

  • the thing about those old stands, they were part of the noise, timber's got a voice, concrete never did 😄 my wife reckons i go quiet when someone mentions the '95 shield day, right into my own little memory of it. chris is right though, give these young forwards a few bunnings npc campaigns and they'll have their own stories to bore their grandkids with 😉
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

  • The concrete at the new place will never tremble like that timber did, mates 😄 my old man reckons he lost a pie and his voice in the same minute in '95 🤣🤣

@Metric_nerd the beer down the back of the jersey, that's too real mate 🤣 my old man took me to a few games at the Park when I was a kid and you could feel every big hit through the boards under your feet. New place is flash but it'll never have that sound 🔥💪
