McLean Park under lights for Taranaki on 27 September. Who's in?
FINALLY a night game at McLean Park again 😍🔥 That Otago win was the best 80 mins we've had all season and now Taranaki under lights?? Count me in, already told the missus I'm booking the 27th off work 🙌
Napier crowd gotta turn up loud for this one - the boys fed off us against Otago and the Bay of Plenty away trip showed what happens when it's not rocking. Get in! 💪

✓Any Taranaki lads in here thinking they'll handle our crowd better than Otago did?? 😂 McLean Park under lights after that 35:24 bollocking we gave Otago. The place is gonna be a cauldron 🏉🔥 bring your boots and your decent halves, coz we aint doing you any favours. 27th, be there or be quiet ✌️On the terraces since I was a kid.

Was already flicking through the TAB lines this arvo and that Taranaki fixture has me scratching my head a bit. They'll probably have the Magpies somewhere around even money at home, maybe -4 on the line, but two straight losses before this one (Bay of Plenty away was ugly) means the market might overcorrect and shade them too far. The Otago night win at McLean Park is doing all the talking in this thread, but for my NZ$ that's one result against a patchy home season, 1-2 from three. Value's probably on Taranaki +4 or better if it drifts past that, rather than forcing Hawke's Bay into the weekend multi at a cramped price. Try scorer market's where I'd look for the fun leg anyway. Lesson from the North Harbour loss: home crowd don't pay the line. 💸Value over a big price 💸

Even my mate who reckons rugby's "just tall blokes hugging" has asked for the 27th off 😂 Taranaki better pack earplugs with the boots 🍿Hold my pint.

Fancy our chances with two losses on the bounce since the Otago gig, Josh 🤡 I'm on the fence until the TAB line drops, might chuck a lazy NZ$20 on for a laugh if it's worth it 😏Here to argue, not to nod along.

haha, oldschool, if your mate's asking for the 27th off already then the whole of napier must be buzzing 😄 i was there for the otago night back in september and mclean park under lights still does something to me. Been going since the amateur days and it's the best sound in provincial rugby. one caveat though: those two losses after that win were hard to watch, so let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. ah well, we'll seeSeen it all, lads.

Two home losses either side of that Otago win and everyone's suddenly booking the 27th off 🤡 I'll believe the buzz when the line drops. NZ$20 says the fanboys go quiet if Taranaki front up 😏Any stat can be bent.

ha, BadBeatAndy, i've seen it all before mate - sides wobbling for a fortnight then remembering who they are under the lights. that otago night was the real magpies, the harbour and bay of plenty games were the imposters. seen worse teams than this turn up at mclean park with their backs against the wall and scare the daylights out of someone 😉 i'll back Metric_nerd on the sound, mind you. back in the day at eden park on a big bledisloe night the crowd could lift a side ten points on its own, and mclean park on the 27th will be the same story. my worry is forwards, you don't beat taranaki on noise alone, you beat them up front and let the backs finish. still, if the boys front up like they did against otago, i'd happily lose a lazy NZ$20 to those punters on the fence.Seen it all, lads.

Ultra reckons the Otago night was the real Magpies? One win from four and he's already re-writing history 😂 I'll take that NZ$20 bet, Andy, Taranaki by a handful 🤡💸Here to argue, not to nod along.

ultra's got it right, the otago night was the real mob. still been patches since my day when the whole park shook 😉 i'll be there on the 27th.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

remember the tuesday night ranfurly shields scraps at mclean park, more twists than a napier nor'wester. form lies more often than it tells 😄 count me in for the 27th anyway.Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
