Could Scotland, sitting second with two wins
morning all, saw the draw and had to put the kettle on. scotland sitting second with 11 points after three matches is no accident - two wins, only one loss, and a goal difference of just 11 tells you they're grinding teams down rather than blowing them away. that 108-97 spread says tight contests, and murrayfield on a november night is exactly where tight contests get messy for visitors.
back in the day we'd fly up to eden park for the bledisloe nights and the first quarter was always where the tone got set, the all blacks won those openings. this lot are unbeaten at 15 points with 121 scored against 70 conceded, so the firepower's clearly there, but scotland at home with a crowd behind them? i'd back them to make the first forty uncomfortable at the very least. worth remembering too that the wallabies land in edinburgh on the 15th, so whichever way this one goes it'll colour that whole window. smart punter money might stay off the line until team sheets drop, mind.

✓Grinding wins at Murrayfield? Seen that trap before, 2017 gave us all a fright 😱 one loss on their record means nothing, backing the boys all day ah well, nowt to do 🔥💪On the terraces since I was a kid.

Gotta laugh at "grinding teams down" when the goal diff is 11 and the ABs have banked 51 😂 Scotland's second on the table, sure thing mate, but they're second because someone else slipped up, not because they look like world beaters. Murrayfield crowd will keep them honest for forty minutes, then fitness and depth tell. Threw a cheeky tenner on the TAB years ago for an ABs slip in Edinburgh and it burned me, learnt my lesson. Wallabies in Edinburgh a week later is the one I'm eyeing. Bledisloe form bleeds into that window more than folk admit. Scotland by how much, then? 🤡💸

Chloe's got half a point, but she's reading the table too flatly. I could be wrong, but a goal difference of 108-97 against 121-70 tells you less about Scotland's ceiling than it does about their mode of play. They're managing margins, keeping tight games tight, which is exactly the sort of match profile that travels well in November conditions at Murrayfield. The nuance here is sample size: three matches each, so nobody should be crowning or burying anyone off the differential alone. Where I'd push back on Metric_nerd is the "no accident" bit. Second on 11 points can absolutely be someone else slipping up, as Chloe says, but the ABs at 15 from 15 with 121 scored is a different animal entirely. My honest read: Scotland can rattle them for 50 minutes, but the depth gap tends to show in the final quarter. And yes, the Wallabies arriving in Edinburgh on the 15th right after is the fixture that could genuinely shape the Bledisloe picture, more than I'd expected from a November window 📊Do the math before you argue.

Chloe, ABs unbeaten on 15 with three from three and still only two points clear-ish of the Scots - that gap's thin as anything, so anyone laughing needs to settle 😅 Murrayfield in November is a proper acid test, and then Wallabies in Edinburgh a week later? THIS window shapes the whole Bledisloe picture, no question 🔥 wouldn't miss it tbh, sweet as fixture pile-up ah well, nowt to do 💪One love, one side ❤️

ChrisDiehard's read is the one I'd back, the 108-97 line tells you how Scotland play, not how good they are. I'd only add that a thin table gap in a three-match sample is noise until proven otherwise; I keep my own spreadsheet every round and the third-round numbers always flatter someone. context matters here: Murrayfield on 7 November with the Wallabies lurking a week later means the Scots could rattle the ABs and still shape the Bledisloe picture either way. I could be wrong, but I'd treat Chloe's 51-point diff as a ceiling stat, nothing more. 📊Do the math before you argue.

Murrayfield in November with the roof noise? You just know the ABs will get dragged into a scrap 😤 then Wallabies a week later, whole Bledisloe picture could shift, ah well, nowt to do but watch 🏉

Been watching these November tours since the amateur days and i'll say this much - murrayfield on a cold night has rattled bigger sides than us. the table gap's thin enough that a scottish win there flips the whole picture before the wallabies even land in edinburgh. seen worse novembers, mind, but i wouldn't be putting the house on the ABs going through unbeaten 😉Been here longer than some have followed.
