Will Bay of Plenty bounce back against North Harbour in Rotorua?
Finally a home game worth circling on the calendar π 4 October, Rotorua International Stadium, North Harbour coming to town β get in!
Look, the last two road trips were ugly as anything π€¬ 43 points shipped in Invercargill, then Tasman ran through us too. But that Hawke's Bay win at home showed what this mob can do when the crowd's behind them. 32:17 and the place was bouncing. That's exactly what the Steamers need on the 4th. That same energy, same fire.
Can they drag themselves off the canvas in front of their own fans? I reckon yes πͺ Counting down the days already π₯

βUgly road trips don't matter once that Rotorua crowd gets going π₯ Harbour fans booking travel already? Save your NZ$ and stay home, Steamers by 10 πͺHeart with the team, head on pause.

Watching that road form I'd want Harbour minus points, but home crowd in Rotorua is a real factor - TAB hasn't moved much yet and I reckon the value's on the Steamers with the start if it's anything over 8. Slapped NZ$20 on them in my multi anyway π₯ last two trips didn't land, this one might.Bankroll discipline wins.

Me watching the Steamers away form vs home form is basically watching two different teams share one jersey π€£ road trips look like my design drafts before feedback, Rotorua nights look like the final version. Either way I'll be there with a pie in each hand, hold my pint if Harbour get within ten πMemes are analysis too.

RobbedAgain that two-teams-one-jersey joke cut too deep mate π€£ because guess who already proved it, my Turbos walked INTO Rotorua on 5 September and walked out with a 12:29 win. At your own ground!! So don't tell me the grandstand drags anyone back to form... that's the bit no one's saying loud enough π¬ Here's the thing though - nah wait, straight up: the Hawke's Bay game showed what this mob CAN do when the pack actually fronts, 32:17 at home was proper π₯ but then two weeks on the road and they folded like a deck chair both times π€¬ So which version shows up on 4 October?? If it's the Hawke's Bay pack, Harbour get rolled. If it's the Invercargill one, might as well not turn up... Heart says Steamers, head says we already wrote the blueprint for how to beat them at home πͺ TURN UP UP THE STEAMERSHeart with the team, head on pause.

JoshDiehard's point hurts a bit living here π but Hawke's Bay night was proper loud, maybe the crowd does matter? Or am I just hoping π€

Turf matters to our lot, always has, Hawke's Bay night proved it. Home game = backing them all day π₯πͺYou don't abandon your own.

Sorry if this is a daft question π but if the crowd matters so much, how did Manawatu win here too? Or is it just Hawke's Bay night we count? πLearning from the veterans, go easy π

ChrisBlues fair point but Manawatu night was dead rubber energy, whole town flat that arvo π Hawke's Bay was packed and loud and we looked like a different mob tbh. Crowd alone won't tackle for you tho, forwards gotta front up, Harbour will come hard at the ruck. Heart says it all, we bounce back πͺπ₯One love, one side β€οΈ

Don't laugh if this sounds daft π but if the crowd's so magic, how come Tasman and Southland sent us home quiet? π Feel like home form only counts when the forwards bother turning up, so maybe Harbour just needs to survive the first twenty minutes? Still learning this, but that's how it reads to meDaft questions are my specialty.

Gramps, those road trips hurt but Harbour travelling up after a month on the road... our lot never make it easy π If the forwards turn up we'll be right πͺ ah well, nowt to do π₯

I've watched Steamers sides swing from brilliant to bashful more times than I can count, and the crowd's only worth what the pack lets it be. Seen worse than those road trips, mind. Southland was grim but the season's long. Harbour won't fear coming to Rotorua, so the first twenty will tell us plenty. Anyone who says they know how this one ends has never watched much rugby, in my book πBeen here longer than some have followed.
