Five straight losses and still fourth
FINALLY footy that matters again π₯ five straight losses but they're still sitting fourth somehow, W8 L6 on the season... our lot never make it easy eh. Backing them all day to snap that streak when it counts πͺ count me in π

βFive losses and you's still holding the flag? π± brave punter mate. LLLLL going into playoffs - that's limping, not peaking π₯

Limping, no argument there, but the market hasn't dumped them yet, they'd still be favourites against half the bottom eight on current form. Thing is, I took them -6 a few weeks back when the line opened shorter and it didn't land, and five straight Ls later the TAB price on a playoff win has only drifted a couple of points. That smells like value to me if the forwards front up; threw NZ$20 on them at the longer odds just in case they snap it week one π₯Value over a big price πΈ

Five losses on the bounce and still fourth is like my mate finishing a marathon after eating a pie at the 30km mark π limping through the tape but he's still got a medal. Count me in for a TAB multi on them snapping it week one, gonna be a fun night either way πΏMemes are analysis too.

Peaking at the right time is a nice fairy tale but you don't bank 456 points and then forget how to score in five straight weeks without something proper wrong, eh. Lucy's right the market hasn't fully dumped them though. Fourth with 38 points still buys you respect at the TAB. I'd rather back whoever they draw in week one personally πAny stat can be bent.

andy's got a point about the scoring drying up, but i'd soften it a bit β you can look flat for five weeks and still have plenty in the tank when the whistles actually matter π back in my day we used to call that sort of run "saving themselves for the big ones", half joking, but sometimes it was true. seen worse sides than this limp into the playoffs and make a proper nuisance of themselves. young ones here saying limping like it's a death sentence, mate, fourth on 38 points is a decent spot to be in, injuries willing. my worry is less the streak itself and more whether the tight five has anything left in the legs come week one. if they've got everyone fit and the senior blokes stand up, i'd back them at the TAB price, sure. if not, well, at least the pies at edens park have got better since the 80s πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

456-412 after five straight losses, that's a lottery not a ladder π who's actually put money on this lot snapping it, and in reality why would you? π€‘πΈHere to argue, not to nod along.

RobbedAgain's got half a point, the 456-412 does read like the bookies were having a laugh, but I'll back the Blues to snap it week one. seen it all before - sides stumble into the playoffs looking half asleep and suddenly remember how to play when the whistles tighten up. put a lazy NZ$20 on them through the TAB myself, purely for the entertainment value mind you πSeen it all, lads.

Funny how everyone remembers the LLLLL and forgets the W8 part π five losses and they're still fourth with a positive points diff - the ladder's doing them a favour and no one's saying thanks. Ultra88, remind me of your ROI on "they'll turn up when it matters" takes? I'll believe the snap-back when I see the team sheet, meanwhile my NZ$ stays in my pocket where it belongs πIt's a lottery, not sport.

met a bloke at the pub years back, swore the same thing about a side limping in with a dodgy run, turned out he was half right, they did find something when it counted, just not the something he'd backed π funny how memory works though. i've sat through enough of these ladders to know the form column in june means very little once july rolls round, the young lot never saw those eden park nights where a team looked dead and buried then suddenly remembered where the tryline was. still, Model_Head's got a nose for it: expectations deceive more often than they reward, and the ladder doing you favours tends to stop the moment knockout footy starts. whether this blues side has another gear or just run out of road... ask me again after week one, i honestly couldn't tell you πRemember when the grass was greener π±
