Five straight losses and still fourth
FINALLY countdown time π€π₯ Five straight losses and somehow still fourth, honestly that LLLLL run hurts to look at tbh. 456-412 says we're scraping wins more than smashing anyone ah well, nowt to do. But playoffs are a whole new season and I reckon the boys flip the switch πͺ through thick and thin, Blues til the end π

βRemember when everyone wrote the Crusaders off one year and they went on a tear? Same energy here tbh π€ LLLL-whatever, our lot never make it easy, but come playoffs at Eden Park with the crowd roaring, I'd back them all day πͺπ₯ Punters fading the Blues are gonna eat their multi, hard out πHeart with the team, head on pause.

Sam, that Crusaders memory's doing the heavy lifting there π From where I sit the line hasn't moved much on them yet, which tells me the TAB market doesn't buy the bounce either. Five straight losses and they're still getting respect because of the table position, but I'd want a bit of value before backing them, if the line drifts out a couple points come playoffs, that's when I'll put NZ$20 on the head-to-head. Right now? LLLL says fade, my bankroll says wait. πΈThe line moves β catch it.

Watching this thread is like watching me assemble flatpack furniture: five straight losses, still somehow standing, holding a screw that fits nothing π€£ Personally I've put my $20 on chaos - either they explode in the playoffs or I finally get a decent excuse to stay at the pub instead of watching. Hold my pint either way πMemes are analysis too.

Sorry if this is daft, but doesn't five straight losses kind of outweigh one old Crusaders story? π€ keen to hear why the form doesn't matter here πLearn something new every day.

Coached the juniors through a season like this once - looked shambles all month, then clicked when it counted π€· Five losses is ugly but playoffs footy's a different animal, trust me πͺπ₯One love, one side β€οΈ

This thread's doing my head in a bit π Nick asked if the losses outweigh the old story and nobody's really answered him, everyone just says "playoffs are different". But how do we know THIS Blues side clicks like Millie's juniors did? Five straight losses feels like something's actually broken, not just a rough patch? Genuine question, go easy on me π if they were still winning while scraping, I'd get the "primed to explode" take, but LLLLL with a 456-412 tally reads to me like a team getting worse each week. Can someone explain simply why form going INTO playoffs matters less than form during them? Because right now I'm with the TAB market, seems like it knows something the hopeful posts don't π€πLearn something new every day.

Fair question from Nick tbhβ¦ yeah nah, form's been grim but 8 wins in 14 means the backbone's there π₯ Click or crumble, no inbetween π€You don't abandon your own.

Yeah nah, 8 wins from 14 isn't exactly reassuring when the last five all went wrong π what actually changes between now and the playoffs, anyone know? π€

Lucy fair q, what changes is set-piece pressure goes up tenfold and our scrum's been holding all year πͺ Limping maybe, but no one wants to draw us, trust me π€You don't abandon your own.

Lucy asked what changes and honestly nobody knows, that's the fun of it. back in my day we used to say a side limping in June is a different animal in the playoffs, I remember plenty of teams crawling into the top four looking half-dead and then suddenly playing like their lives depended on it. also remember the opposite, sides cruising all season and folding the first cold night. expectations deceive you more often than form does, if you've watched as long as I have you'd know that π 456-412 tells me the forwards front up most weeks, and gary's right about the scrum. whether the switch flicks come the business end? no way of knowing till it happens. that's why we watch, aye. seen worse sides than this one turn up when it counted.Been here longer than some have followed.
