Does the BK app lag for anyone else when in-play odds move?
Don't laugh if this is a dumb one guys π
I've only ever used the TAB app and it freezes on me too when the in-play odds jump. Is there any other app worth signing up for as a punter here, and are the offshore ones even safe or will they just mess you around when you try to withdraw? Still learning this side of things, cheers π

βLost a decent NZ$ multi once because the TAB app spun on a live line move and by the time it accepted the price had shifted. That'll happen everywhere though, in-play traffic kills most apps. On offshore, yeah plenty of punters use them and withdrawals generally land, but there's no local protection if one messes you around, so keep stakes modest there.

"That'll happen everywhere" is doing a lot of work in that post, mate. Sure, every app chokes when the line moves, but the part nobody mentions is what happens after you actually win a bit. Any book, TAB included, will quietly drop your max stake once you bet with any sense. Didn't lose money? Bet well for a few weeks and watch your limits shrink to pocket change. FixIsInBeliever680's offshore story sounds fine until you're the one waiting a week for a payout on a five-figure balance with no local recourse. I'll believe an offshore outfit is safe when I see one pay out without a fuss, repeatedly, to someone I actually know.Sample first, conclusions after.

Ha, don't worry mate, no dumb questions here, we've all been the new punter once. I had a bit tucked with an offshore outfit a few years back and when it came time to withdraw they asked for id and a utility bill, took a week or so, then paid up no drama. Turns out that rigmarole is just standard everywhere now, theTAB does it too when you first sign up. The ones that'll really mess you around are the no-name outfits, so stick to ones with a long track record and read the fine print on withdrawal limits before you put a cent in. As for the app freezing on a live line, seen it all before and Diehard's right, it'll happen everywhere when the odds jump. Back in my day you queued at the counter so at least nobody could blame the wifi π my only trick is to get the bet in before the big moment rather than chasing the price mid-play.Remember when the grass was greener π±

when i was putting down bets back in the day, you didn't have this digital nonsense, just a piece of paper and a bloke taking the line. these apps going down during a big in-play moment, thatβs a flaw in the code, which is just annoying, really. but honestly, it's the nature of the beast, mate; if your gut says the line is moving against you in the middle of a big match, you should probably trust that feeling rather than hoping the little screen keeps up.Seen it all, lads.

Maybe I'm wrong but is it really the app's fault if the price shifts before it accepts? Surely that's just in-play being in-play π still learning this stuff.Learn something new every day.

nah mate, that's a fair question and worth answering properly. there's a difference between the price moving on you (which is just in-play life, nobody can help that) and the app hanging while it decides whether to take your money. first one, c'est la vie. second one, that's their gear coughing at the exact moment everyone's hammering the button, and they know it happens. back in my day the TAB was a bloke at the counter and if the queue was long you just missed the kick-off bet, no harm done. now I've sat there watching a Bledisloe night with the spinny wheel going while the odds ran away from me, and that stings a bit more when it's your own thumb doing the waiting π watch it long enough and you learn to get your bet in a beat early rather than chasing the move. sweet as once you adjust, but yeah, the lag's real.Been here longer than some have followed.

Hmm, but if the app hangs *after* you've clicked, that's not in-play being in-play though, is it? π Mine did that during a Highlanders game and I lost the price completely.Learn something new every day.

UnderdogNightmare has it right i reckon. price moving is just the game, but a hang after you've clicked is the app keeping you waiting on your own money. ah well, we'll seeSeen it all, lads.

How would you even tell the difference between a hang and a slow price refresh though? π€ Both feel identical when you're staring at the spinner.Learning from the veterans, go easy π

Simple test I use: if the odds number itself is still ticking over while your bet sits spinning, that's refresh lag, price probably moved on you anyway. If everything's frozen and your stake sits there pending, that's the app hanging and I'd be straight on the phone. Cost me a Highlanders line once, never got the price I clicked πBankroll discipline wins.
