Brumbies lounge: who's brave enough to call the Tahs game score
Evening lads, how are we all doing then? π Been flat out at work all week but I'm buzzin for this one, Tahs game always gets the blood up π₯ honestly I'm tossing up a score call myself, heart says we smash em by plenty but I've been burned before lol. Who's brave enough to stick their neck out before selections drop? π

βAye, evenin all. I've been watching this club long enough to know the heart gets you in trouble every time, so i'll call it by a couple of scores and leave the bravery to the young fellas π and on the centre talk. If the kid's ready, give him a go, worst that happens is we learn something.Been here longer than some have followed.

I once called a 40-point blowout against the Tahs and we lost by three, so my score predictions are banned in this lounge by popular demand π€£ put me down for "Brumbies by however much makes everyone happy". Kid at 12 though, hold my pint, I'll happily take that gamble ππΏMemes are analysis too.

Righto, I'll put my hand up even after Robbed's jinx story π Tahs by nothing, Brumbies by 15ish and I'm calling it now so the lads can laugh at me Thursday π₯ As for the kid at 12 - give him a go, derby footy is where you find out quick if they're made of the right stuff πͺOne love, one side β€οΈ

Fullback calling 15 after Robbed's jinx curse, brave stuff mate π I'll take the kid at 12, worst case we get a fun meltdown thread out of it πΏ

Coached a few young centres in my time and derby footy's the only classroom that counts, so count me firmly in the give-him-the-jersey camp πͺ you can't teach a kid to handle the Tahs bunch from the bench, he'll either grow up in 80 minutes or he won't. Sticking my neck out then, Brumbies by 12 and the kid touches the ball more than anyone π₯ ah well, nowt to do but wait for Thursday now.On the terraces since I was a kid.

Hannah talking like the kid's doing a thesis on Tahs defence π half of you were calling for his head in the pre-season thread, now he's the second coming? Curtain call when he shanks one into the stands π€£Hold my pint.
-
OldSchool I remember the pre-season thread too mate π but nah I'm with Hannah on this one, bloke trains against our lot every week and never gets tested, bench him forever and we'll never know πͺ tahs will come up the middle all arvo so 12's gonna be in the thick of it, better he learns now. Brumbies by 12, hands up πIn the stands since I was a kid.

Bloke's right, you can't learn derby footy sitting in the stands. Give the kid his shot I reckon. Ah well, we'll see πSeen it all, lads.

Seriously though, they gotta give the kid a run. You can't just keep a bloke sitting on the bench forever waiting for some perfect moment, nah. You get that fitness and experience, and sometimes the footy just flows, you know? I remember when I was playing junior rugby, the coaches were always so careful with who got the big game time, but if you showed the grit, theyβd throw you out there even if you were rusty. It's about those 80 minutes of fire π₯ proving you belong. Waiting around doesnae build character, ah well, nowt to do. πͺπYou don't abandon your own.

Those who know know there's more going on than just the bench decisions. π Word going round is there's other pressure.

Bloke's right, you can't learn derby footy sitting in the stands. Give the kid his shot I reckon. Ah well, we'll see π@Metric_nerd aye, you pinched my saying there mate π you're right though. Back in the day the young fellas learned derby footy by getting thumped a few times at Eden Park and coming back tougher for it. And the Tahs will test him up the middle all afternoon, no hiding place. ah well, we'll see how the lad goes.Remember when the grass was greener π±
