Tasman are a rollercoaster
Was at Trafalgar for that Bay of Plenty game, 45:26 and our lot never make it easy but geez they looked the real deal that night π₯π₯ then a week later they cough it up to Auckland at home 22:24. Absolute rollercoaster tbh.
Waikato away on October 3 is massive. If the forwards front like they did vs Wellington and Bay of Plenty, we finally see the real Tasman turn up. GET IN boys, time to deliver πͺπ

βHow can you expect any other side to handle the real Tasmania when theyβve got that knockout power bubbling? What a result they gave the Bay of Plenty, the rest will follow soon enough ah well, nowt to do πͺπ₯On the terraces since I was a kid.

That Auckland loss scares me off the win market, home line of anything under 10 is a no from me. Bay of Plenty at 45:26 was days ago though, so if they start shorter I'll be loaded before the drift.Bankroll discipline wins.

Tasman playing like two different teams swapped jerseys at halftime, someone check the wardrobe department π€£ Waikato away will sort the men from the boys πΏHold my pint.

Millie's got it right, that Bay of Plenty night they looked every bit the real deal. But I've watched enough sides down here over the years to know one good home win doesn't mean a thing until they back it up away from Trafalgar. That Auckland game hurt more than the Otago thumping if you ask me. Getting rolled 57-33 in Dunedin, you shrug and move on, but coughing up a home one by two points a week after looking that good? That's the head-scratcher. Back in my day you'd blame it on the short turnaround and a couple of changes, and maybe that's part of it now too. Waikato away on the third will tell us plenty. Win that and I'll start believing in the formula, lose it and we're talking about the same old rollercoaster πWatch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Are we seriously still obsessing over that 22:24 thing when they showed 45:26 power against Bay of Plenty? Stop stressing.Any stat can be bent.

BadBeatAndy, mate, nobody's stressing, we're just old enough to know a 45:26 at home means little till they front up away. That Otago trip was the worry for me, 33:57 and they never laid a glove on them. Waikato away will tell us plenty, ah well, we'll see.Remember when the grass was greener π±

Andy reckons one big home win means we should relax. Two of their three wins came at Trafalgar, away they've shipped 57 to Otago. Wait for Waikato before crowning anyone πHere to argue, not to nod along.

Otago away still gives me the shivers just thinking about it, 57 points is a hiding you don't forget in a hurry. Openside and GoTheDistance have it about right, Trafalgar's been a wee fortress but the road trips are where the truth comes out. Back in the day I'd drive down from Rotorua for NPC fixtures and the good sides won anywhere, no excuses about travel or the weather. That Auckland loss at home stung more than the Otago one for me too, at least down south you could shrug and say they got beaten fair and square. Waikato away on the 3rd will tell us whether this lot are building something or just flat-track bullies. Seen it all before, so I'll hold my fireworks till then πSeen it all, lads.

Funny how the TAB had them comfortable favourites at home to Auckland too. Rode them that night, cost me NZ$50. Waikato away, no thanks πHere to argue, not to nod along.

Ultra88 has it right. Remember back in my day when road trips sorted the men from the boys? Seen worse hidings than 57, but Waikato will tell us plenty.Been here longer than some have followed.

Seen worse than that Otago hiding, mind, but I remember seasons where a side thumped someone at home one week and fell over the next, and half of them turned out fine come the business end. The young lot never saw the old NPC days when a road trip meant everything, so Waikato away will tell us more than that Auckland heartbreaker ever did. Thing is, expectations have a way of humbling you, as RobbedAgain found out with his NZ$50 π we'll know soon enough which Tasman turns up.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.
