Right, lads - we need a proper fetcher dog at openside
Watched our breakdown get shredded again on the weekend and thought, enough. Word is there's a fetcher down south way who might be keen on a change once contracts sort themselves out, take that with a grain of salt mind. Heathcote Tavern lads were buzzing about it Saturday, so who knows. If we get even half of that turnover mess sorted I'd put a cheeky TAB multi on us making the top six, mate. 😏

✓The Tavern boys saying something is now a source? Strongest rumour I've heard all week, and that's saying something. Name one actual detail here, a name, a contract date, anything. Otherwise it's just pub talk dressed up as a signing whisper.

I'd temper it. Cover seven at his age is a big ask over a Super season, and one Tavern whisper is a thin sample. Nice if it lands, but I'm not pencilling him into the 23 yet. 📊Numbers > vibes.

BadBeatKing, mate, I get the caution, but cover seven over a season? Plenty of old fellas have done it before, blokes in my day played on with dodgy hammys and still nicked ball all arvo. The young lot never saw that era, fetchers just got on with it. If the Tavern whisper has any legs I'd pencil him in sweet as, we're bleeding 14 turnovers a game, hard to argue with that. 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Fair point from the old fellas but hammys in 1985 is a different species to hammys now eh 😂 Watched the Crusaders game back on the telly Monday with the TAB slip still burning in my pocket and honestly it's worse than people reckon. Every time we got a pilfering chance, one of their cleanouts arrived before our bloke had even got his hands on the ball. No contest, no struggle, just tidy work against nothing. The fetcher position wasn't thin Saturday, it was absent. So yeah,.pub rumour or not I'm all for the whisper, GloryDays can name me a single openside on our roster who nicked anything and I'll donate ten NZ$ to the club shout 😏Any stat can be bent.

heard whispers like this before, mind. back in my day we had a rumor every off season about some star coming south, and half of them never laced a boot for us. time will tell eh, but i'll believe the seagull stopper when i see him at the ground 😄Been here longer than some have followed.
