Remember when Semenoff Stadium shook for the Taniwha
i remember one afternoon at semenoff stadium too, it was unreal. the way the whole crowd just came alive when the taniwha started charging. honestly, half the whistleblowers down at the pub still talk about that noise; it felt like the old wood was actually shaking off the ground. what a day that was.

✓Was up in the standings that day with my old man, swear the whole grandstand was jumping under our feet 😱 you could feel it through your boots, madness. Loudest I've ever heard a ground, even louder than the test matches I've been to. Still get goosebumps thinking about it 🔥💪You don't abandon your own.

i reckon it wasn't just the cheering, was it? it felt deeper than that. like the whole spirit of whangarei just let out a giant sigh of pure relief and pride all at once, right when that try went down. i still get that tightness in my chest when i think about how big that sound was, something you just don't find in modern matches.Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

MatchdayTillIDie put it well, it was relief as much as noise. Funny thing is when I compare that afternoon to the current side, the biggest difference for me is how they close games out. That team defended a one-score lead like their lives depended on it and the crowd fed off that desperation. The lads now play some lovely stuff going forward, more skill than that era had, but I could be wrong, they don't quite squeeze the throat the same way in the last ten. Still, you watch this current group at Semenoff and the old wooden grandstand still creaks when the Taniwha are on the march. Different style, same feeling in your boots 📊Do the math before you argue.

Took my youngest boy to that one, he was up on the seats screaming his lungs out, reckon the whole stand bounced with him 😱🙌 never heard Whangarei like it 🔥Heart with the team, head on pause.

Was my seat vibrating or was the whole grandstand actually about to do a dramatic flop? 😂 i think i lost an earring in the shakes that day. 🤣Memes are analysis too.
