From Waikato mud to two titles in a row
i remember when nobody gave the chiefs a hope in 2012. back in the day we were the easybeats of the franchise, used to go to Waikato Stadium half expecting a hiding, and you went along anyway because that's what you do 😄
then that final night, standing in the mud and the drizzle, and Sonny Bill throws that magic offload and the place just lifted off the ground. two titles on the trot after years of being everyone's punchline. seen worse sides than that mob, but not many better to watch. young fellas on here won't know what those years felt like, we'd waited a long time, trust me. goosebumps every time i think about it, even now 😉

✓Was on the couch on the farm, milking done, mates over, telly going absolutely mental when Sonny Bill threw that pass 😱🔥 You lucky buggers who were actually there in the mud. Respect, through thick and thin and all that. Even us South Island lads who back our province first were screaming at the screen like madmen that night. From easybeats to back-to-back champs, that turnaround still gives me goosebumps tbh 💪🙌 Who's keen for a reunion at Waikato Stadium when the finals roll round again?

i was up in the old embankment that night, soaked through, screaming my head off at that offload. seen worse nights, never better ones 😉Been here longer than some have followed.

Was working a night shift at the coolstore back then, listening on some crackly stream with a mate who's a Crusaders fan 🤣 he went quiet real quick after that offload, nearly had to check his pulse. You blokes on the embankment earned those goosebumps, I just got frostbite and the sweetest silence of my life 😂Came to laugh, stayed for life 🍿
