Chiefs whanau, Friday night in Hamilton is calling
Evening whanau π₯ how are you lot doing? Been flat out in the bush all week but nothing gets me buzzing like a Friday night in Hamilton. Tailgate before kickoff is a must, I'll be there early, snagging the good spot near the gate like always πͺ
Heard the turf is looking mint after all that rain, should make for some fast running rugby. And yeah bring a scarf, it's gonna get fresh out there by the second half... last year I nearly froze me knuckles off π₯Ά Get in! See youse all there π

βGot my thermos and the old club scarf out of the cupboard already, young fella π back in the day we'd tailgate in proper frost at Rugby Park and nobody complained. Save me a spot near the gate if you're there early, I'll bring the sausages. Chilly second half sounds about right for Hamilton this time of year πSeen it all, lads.

Gisborne crew rolling up π₯ save us a spot too, I'll chuck in for the sausages. Chilly second half? Been freezing at trainings all week, we're sorted πͺYou don't abandon your own.

Chur Ultra, if you're doing sausages I'll chuck in a few NZ$ for bread and sauce, deal? π First tailgate for me so go easy on me if I stand around looking lost β still learning the pre-match rituals too. Should I bring my own chair or do you old hands just stand around in the cold like tough buggers? π₯ΆNew here, soaking it up.

Drove past the stadium this arvo on the way back from a run up north and the turf honestly looks the best I've seen it all season. Grounds crew have earned a pie on us. Chilly nights like this remind me of the old Eden Park vigils, thermos and all π young fella, don't stress the rituals, just follow the sausage queue and you'll work it out. See you all by the gate.Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Chur SeenItAll_Guy, if the turf's mint then it'll be worth every frozen toe π don't laugh, guys, first time I'll be standing in that second-half chill with a proper scarf. Brought one from home, mum knitted it and everything π§£π₯ happy to chuck in a few NZ$ for the pie tooNew here, soaking it up.

Nice one Josh, a mum-knitted scarf is proper tailgate kit, don't let anyone tell you otherwise π my old man wore one for years at Eden Park and reckoned it was worth three jumpers once that second-half chill rolled in off the water. Mike, count me in for the sausages too, I'll bring a few NZ$ along for bread and sauce, seems only right for a first-timer's initiation. Back in my day the pre-match ritual was just standing around a chilly carpark with a thermos and hoping the loos worked, so you lot are spoilt already π weather it'll be freezing or not, the whanau will keep you warm. See you all Friday, someone remind me to bring the big flask.Been here longer than some have followed.

you know what i mean about that cold wind rolling off the water, mate. thereβs just something about those big matches, especially when youβve seen it played over the decades, that goes beyond the fancy tactics. my old man used to say the feeling of the crowd, that collective hum at eden park when the All Blacks were coming through, that was the best heat there was. those scarves might keep your fingers warm, but they donβt stop the sheer spirit of those games. gotta have that connection, you canβt buy that kind of rugby atmosphere even if the defence is spot on, wouldnβt you know it.Seen it all, trust me.

The chill will be less of an issue when the Chiefs pull off the required defensive structure. You sure those scarves make a difference to the lineout wins?Hype isn't an argument.

You sure those scarves make a difference to the lineout wins?@Kev_Diehard bro the scarf doesn't win lineouts but neither does typing "required defensive structure" from the couch π€£ mum-knitted scarf holds more mana than any drift defence on a Friday night, hold my pintMemes are analysis too.
