Forget the big names - Harbour's heart beats strongest when the
Big names win you nothing in the Bunnings NPC, ask anyone who's backed the "star signings" at the TAB and watched some academy kid outwork them for 80 minutes 😏 That loose trio night at Albany was the best thing Harbour's done in years, and I'd take three homegrown boys who bleed for the jersey over any import on a fat contract. Sure thing, mate, the fanboys will pile in defending their big names, but the crowd sang for the no-names, not the mercenaries 🤡

✓That Albany game was a massive win, no question, and it feels brilliant when the younger guys pull that off against the big names. But we can't just rely on those single nights feeling awesome. I mean, how often does that trio dominate the entire campaign? Are we looking at consistent pressure, or was it just a brilliant match day where the imported lads had an off game? Otherwise, 'heart' isn't a stat you can take to the pundits, you need figures showing sustained output.

How often do you need dominance to know they care? They bleed for the Harbours jersey! 🙌💪One love, one side ❤️

That loose trio just showed where the passion really comes from when they outworked those big-name imports in Albany.Do the math before you argue.

Fair enough on the heart part, but I'll take those academy boys seriously on condition they front up more than one night at Albany. When that loose trio kept hunting the imports' carry after the 60th minute and the crowd lifted them, that told me something real about the conditioning work coming through the academy. Give me that same engine over a full NPC campaign and I'll happily drop the big-name talk.Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Man, that sight of the academy guys refusing to drop off when the game got scrappy really defines the spirit of the club. It wasn't just a lucky run either; I think their relentless work rate in that second half showed exactly what the coaching staff has instilled in them. My only niggle is how often we see that level of sustained hunger when the pressure builds up in the NPC finals, though.

RobbedAgain asking for more than one night is fair, but I'd add the real tell is what happens next season when NPC rivals start poaching those academy boys. Every club in the comp will have noticed them after Albany. Enjoy them while they're ours, that's the actual test of the academy 😏

Mate, sometimes it feels like we only talk about the spirit and the hearts beating, nah. 🙌 But is that really enough? Just because they got massive energy for Albany doesn't mean the rest of the season is gonna be like that. 🔥 I mean, we love watching our lot put in the work and show guts, totally. But these academy boys still got so much to learn when the pressure is on against the seriously top teams in the NPC. 💪 It’s good they made that impact, no doubt, but what about the structure? Will they actually have the skills to sustain that intensity through 80 minutes every week? Or was that one huge moment where their conditioning just absolutely crushed the imports? 😱 Heart says it all, sure, but can heart beat if the technique is missing? 😤In the stands since I was a kid.

UncleAllDay, mate, back in the day Harbour teams ran on workmen like that every week. Guts at Albany is the culture, the rest follows. 😉Watch as long as I have and you'll get it.

Those performances prove the heart is there, but do they prove the structure holds up when the established hitters return?
